Adobe flash game4/13/2023 No matter which way you slice the pie, and irrespective of the thickness of your rose-tinted glasses, Flash never worked that well on mobile. 50 cal bullet of news two very distinct ways: either Adobe has realized that apps are the future, or this is its abject surrender. Mobile Flash players will continue to receive security updates, incidentally, but all future development has now ceased. Adobe Air ( Adobe Integrated Runtime (Opens in a new window)) is basically just a wrapper around Flash. Flash isn't entirely dead on mobile devices, either: Adobe wants to give developers the choice of packaging their Flash apps with Adobe AIR, and then distributing these "native" apps in the iOS, Android, and presumably Windows Phone 7 in the future. Unsurprisingly, as part of the same briefing, Adobe said that it would now focus its efforts on HTML5 (presumably by putting more work into Adobe Edge). According to ZDNet, Adobe briefed its partners late yesterday - an official announcement should follow today. In a move that will shake the very foundations of the Apple/Android fanboy dichotomy, Adobe has reportedly ceased all development on Flash Player for mobile devices - the version of Flash that allowed you to play Kongregate games in your browser, or watch streaming video from thousands of sites.
